I came around a blind corner at 50mph and collided with a car that was broad side pulling out from a parking space. - Bad location for a roadside pull-off. I visited the spot today and concluded you are taking your life in your hands pulling out from there. It's blind in both directions. Anyway, I manage not to kill the guy by swerving left but caught his bumper which ripped a piece of sheet metal off the passenger side door of my car about 8" wid and 4" long. He fled the scene confirming his guilt.
So my question - is there an airbag in that door and is there some special procedure for replacing the door?

What year is the car?

Typically side airbags are installed either the seat or B pillar and the area above the window.

The car is a 2004 Custom
correction on dimension of the damage - 8" by 4'

No side curtain airbags in that model, not until the Lucerne, 2006.
