ATP 106001 no longer comes with metal EGR cert sleeve

Washers are not necessary for the UIM......but if it makes you feel better then go for it.
The torque spec is not much.
I've done 5 or 6 UIMs over the last 20 years and have never cracked one due to over tightening.

It says 89 in for torque but was wondering if it's different with the added washers. Probably would be right,? I doubt I'll use the washers when I do mine but am curious anyways. I am however worried about pitting and corrosion on the head/lim surface. I've heard of some using jb weld to create a smooth surface down there.

Don't overthink it

The reason I put the washers is on the leftmost bolt for the plenum on one of my previous repairs I did break the plastic. So I put a washer on that bolt so it spread the load to the plastic around the broken part.

Washers are not needed I just thought it would help. I think they were 1/4 washers.

The comment about pitting on the head/LIM surface - Never had an issue or seen pitting. Where the gasket sits is normally like new due to it being protected. Heres a pic with the new outer gasket before I installed the felpro gaskets on the heads. Nothing more disappointing to have the LIM gasket leaking after the engine is all button up.

I also let the car sit for at least one day after its fully assembled so everything can cure. Then I add coolant and start it up.

Last photo its all warmed up and coolant burped purring like a kitten.

I drove it to work today first time since this repair and shes good to go. Hopefully I get 290K miles on this car like my old rusted out 2003 Lesabre did.

Yes the surface looked good. I hope mine is the same. How many miles are on the car when you changed the gaskets?

This 2000 Lesabre has 61,455 miles on it. I picked it up a year ago from the original owner.

Mine has 87k on it now and I am praying the gasket surfaces look clean like yours
