Auto Stop Start - GONE FOREVER

I have a new 2019 Buick Enclave - the auto stop-start drives me crazy - our Mercedes at least gives us a button to turn it off once the car is started - the Enclave does not give you any capability to turn it off - I asked the dealership and they said some like it but MOST HATE IT. They printed off a website that produces a by-pass device that costs $140 and takes 5 minutes to install - yippee I no longer have to drive a brand new car that stops whenever it feels like it.

Buick and GM - stop taking decisions away from the owners - I would have never purchased the Enclave if I had known that I didn't have a choice to turn it off. I love my 2019 Enclave Premium - now that I've fixed it myself.

No the 2020 Enlcave does not have a disable button for stat stop. I own one and am looking for an after market part to disable it.

My Enclave's Auto stop feature has not engaged since I bought it 4 months ago. When I drove a loaner Encore, it engaged constantly and I love how quiet it is at full stops. How can I make my Enclave work as well?

The 2018 and newer models have auto stop/start. If you have one of those and really want it to function every time you stop, have a dealer look at it, as it is probably a warrantee repair. Although I don't mind it much I wouldn't cry if it failed to auto-stop/start.

Trifecta performance advertises that they have one that deletes the start stop, but I believe you actually go into the ECM and change the software, they also state that it can be switched back to factory setup with the same program. Reconfiguring the ECM sounds a little risky to me.

I totally agree! I just wish it were available for the 2020 Enclave. I'm waiting patiently.

I just installed mine last night. Literally took five minutes. It works exactly as advertised. No warnings etc. Like the gentleman said best $140 I have spent on a car.

No.

It (assuming we're talking about the 'SmartStopStart' kit) just simulates the action of having the hood up while starting the car & then closing it. This also explains why it buggers-up the remote vehicle start--which won't work if the hood is up.

I just keep my a/c running all the time, it won't turn off at a stop if it's on. I have a 2020 Enclave Aviner, besides I live in FL where we need a/c 11 months out of the year.

Came here to post the exact same thing. Recently got a 2018 Enclave Avenir and thought there was something wrong with it. It only once shutoff when stopped and it started to shutoff then immediately turned on again. I then read the owner's manual more closely and it lists a whole lot of reasons why it may not turn off. I keep the A/C on 65 and it almost never turns off. As soon as I turn off the A/C of up the temp, it turns off at almost every stop.
