2016 Buick Encore
The battery on my Encore started to drain completely overnight. It would start immediately on a charger but wouldn’t hold the charge more than a day or two. I replaced the battery and it worked well for about a month. Now it’s doing the same thing. Any ideas?

Have the charging system checked and check for a parasitic drain.

Thank you. A friend did monitor the battery and couldn’t find anything draining the battery

2015 Encore has battery draining problems. Periodically the battery goes dead. First time put in new battery. The last eight times I just get out the charger. I bought a hand held battery booster because three times I was away from home. Had car to the dealer twice and they can‘t find anything wrong. Tired of paying hundreds of dollars to have all checks come out perfect.

Have you tried putting it in transport mode to see if any of these modules would be draining the battery. Transport mode turns off modules like remote controls, alarm system, oil monitor and a few others. You would have to open your car with your key for a few days but at least you would eliminate some stuff. Or maybe your alternator isn't charging high enough.

How to: explained in this thread.

Does your vehicle have OnStar? I was having intermittent dead battery on some mornings. After doing parasitic drain tests it checked okay but the battery was still going dead occasionally. After disconnecting the OnStar module I haven't had a dead battery since.

Has the manufacturer figured out what's going on????.....I'm looking at getting rid of my buick if not, I love my buick but I can't afford to keep putting $$ into it.

I also have a 2016 Buick Encore with a parasitic draw on the battery causing the battery to go dead each night. Alternator is working fine. With everything off, when I remove the negative battery cable, I noticed that if I touch the negative battery cable to the battery negative post there is a fairly active spark and then some kind of electric motor noise under the dash starts and lasts for about 15 sec. When I take away contact from the negative battery cable from the battery post and then reattach, the same noise happens over and over. I sure hate to bring the car into a mechanic. I will start removing fuses 1 at a time until I figure out what is causing this battery drain. Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm having the exact same problem on my 2015 buick.

I just happened to stumble across this forum as I was also chasing a parasitic draw issue. As I worked my way around the car and found myself at the driver rear fuse block in the rear hatch area, I was observing my meter and stumbled across a 10 amp fuse for the AWD control module which is mounted on the rear differential.
Once I pulled the fuse my draw, which varied from 3800 mA down to as low as 1800 mA steadily dropped and once the bus timed out I landed at 6 mA. It turns out the AWD control ended up being the culprit.

We should have the part tomorrow and once installed it will need to be flashed, we have a company that logs in remotely through one of our shop tools to complete the process. I hope this will help any of you who are chasing the same problem that I was.

Hey all, I stumbled across this forum during some parasitic draw concerns we had at our shop on a 2015 Encore and it was crazy to see how many there are.

Mine started with an average draw of 3900, give or take mA's and sometimes it would break 4 Amps. As I worked my way around the fuse boxes and ended up at the driver rear fuse block in the hatch area I finally pulled a 10 amp fuse that showed me everything I wanted to see. It was for the AWD control module, and once the bus went to sleep I ended up at 6mA draw which is well within the acceptable range for parasitic draw.

I hope what I found today helps anyone that is pulling out their hair, or maybe feels like smoke coming out of your ears. The bottom line is that you'll find it wherever it is, it just takes some time and patience.

2014 buick encore, starts and runs ok, leave it for few days and it's totally dead, 3 batteries in 3 years, this last battery lasted 2 months and was told battery was bad, not sure if they even tested for a draw even though I asked them to. They said alternator was good,

The same thing happen for me with my 2016 Buick Encore. The only difference is the noise doesn't stop until the battery is dead. Did you ever out what caused this issue?
