I will be installing my Valentine One radar detector, using a BlendMount in the near future, and am wondering the best way to run the 4 wire cable for this down into the dashboard. The installation will include a remote display and a remote speaker module, so tapping into the mirror power isn't practical. I need to run the full 4 conductor cable down. It's roughly the size of a telephone wire.

I know the wire needs to route down the A pillar, but I'm concerned about the airbag. Do any of you have any insights (photos?) about the best way to route this wire?

This will be my first - and possibly my last - mod to my Verano. I got out of the modding business when I sold my VW Jetta TDI.

Thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions you can provide.

Car Toys quoted me $120 + parts to do the install and they would route it the same. Generally you have to disconnect the battery to avoid setting off the airbag.

To close out this thread: I took the install job to a local custom stereo installer. They did a very professional job with the wire dressing, and properly mounted the remote speaker and remote display modules. They even hardwired in my GPS so I don't have that wire floating across my dash anymore. In and out in about 45 minutes. Total cost $80. Freed up a whole afternoon for me, and greatly reduced my aggravation level.

The BlendMount for the V1 it top notch. I highly recommend it.

Haven't had ours done yet, still debating if I want to break the piggy bank and get the Passport 9500CI for the total package and concealed. $2,000 installed is quite steep. Or if I just want to stick with our regular 9500 xi and add a set of laser shifters to it, that's a more manageable $700 installed.

10/26/14: I see someone linked a Sears listing to my Valentine One Radar Detector comment. Please don't purchase any Valentine products from any place other than Valentine One directly, as you will not receive a factory warranty. There are no authorized resellers of Valentine products, to the best of my knowledge.

The blend mount us nice as that rear antenna has an open view. The V1 is sensitive on laser that I have picked up laser scatter through 20% window tint.
