Hey y'all.. thinking of buying a new 04 LeSabre at auction...super low miles like 40k but has a possible head gasket issue...went and checked out today and I didn't see any of the usual signs ....what's a sure way to tell? It seemed to run just fine had ac going and it didn't over heat or anything...is there a way to post a video here? It did have a strange sound when I held throttle open

How do know it has a possible head gasket issue?
What does coolant look like?
What does inside of the oil fill cap look like?
Any white smoke out the exhaust?

The description said something about a "possible head gasket issue" but like I said I didn't see any of those things when I checked it out..oil cap was clean. No white smoke. Coolant looked fine.

Only other tests would be testing coolant for hydrocarbons or compression test.

In addition, do not forget to do a coolant pressure test.

See if you can see any bubbles in the coolant coming out of the radiator

This thread is 3-1/2 yrs old & the OP has not been seen here in 3-yrs, so we may never here the rest of the story. 😕
