Hi Folks,

I am trying to help an older friend with brake related messages being lit up on his 2001 LeSabre Liminted dash board.

Here is the situation. (on an '01 LeSabre Liminted). Recently several lights on the dash have lit up. The ABS Light, the Brake light and one other (its description I have forgotten, but I think it too was brake related).

He has done some preliminary checking on this and has got some info suggesting that it is expensive to fix. (He is currently carefully driving the thing with the lights on as he ponders the problem). I asked him to point out the part to me that was being identified as the bad boy. He was not able to actually point one out to me, so I am not actually sure what he is being showed or told. ABS Module??.

So first-- what is the danger level of driving with an ABS light on?

I am trying to get more specific info as to what part is being suggested to him as being the problem, hopefully he will get me that info in a few days. My first thought was the ABS computer. I did a little research into the ABS computer module and find that it qualifies as an expensive part.

So.... Does this sound like an ABS computer problem??
If so, is this a thing a candidate for a trip to the pull it place to keep cost down.

Any one got some feedback? I will have more questions based on your feedback.

Thanks John

Driving with the ABS light on isn't that big a deal but driving with the red brake light on is a big deal. As long as it is full of fluid and the brakes work I might chance it for a day or two but that light usually comes on when the fluid is low or the pedal is too low.

John,
The three lights are most likely ABS, Brake, & Traction. I'd think a
quick check of some System Grounds for good Clean Connections, with
proper Torqued Bolts would be a good starting point, starting with the
Battery Cable, and Engine Ground Connection, on to the EBCM.......

Hi,
I will just add what happened to my LeSabre,
I had those lights on too and it was my front right hub assy. It did not make noise and was tight..too tight. it was binding up and caused the ABS sensor to fail and had those lights come on. If you can have someone scan the codes with a ABS brake scanner to see if that is the problem. Hope this helps.
