Buick Ownership
2006 Buick Lucerne CXS
I swapped out my OEM Head unit but it’s a cheap one from Amazon that does not fit well.

I have seen some on Amazon that look like the OEM. However I am having trouble receiving a specific answer if it is compatible.

It says it will fit a Buick Enclave 2008.

I've shared a Brand Store on Amazon with you.

Anyone know if it’ll work?

Well the only difference between the Lucerne and Enclave is that the Enclave has dedicated outputs for center and subwoofer speakers and probably others. It MIGHT work, but there’s no guarantee it will sound good at all.

On GM factory units they are not interchangeable even from other Lucerne's and you can't swap a other GM models into a Lucerne. They need programming at the dealer level to be compatible, with that being said unless the seller can confirm your year Lucerne would be compatible with their unit it may be something to pass on. I would recommend trying crutchfield.com for units that are listed for the Lucerne.

Well technically you can, I’ve had NAV radios from other platforms like the GMT900 Suburban/Yukon/Tahoe in my Lucerne before. The only thing is, you need to reset the theft data on them. You can do this using a GM Tech2 with Software version 30.004 or lower; or if you are tech savvy you can take apart the radio and program the eprom on the main board (this is what I’ve always done). I only know this because I’ve done tons and tons of experimenting with my Lucerne as far as adding options go, for instance, I have the DVD radio from an enclave on my Lucerne which also means I have reverse camera capabilities. Really and GM NAV radio is interchangeable from that generation 2006-2011. Unfortunately, if you don’t have the means to reset the theft data you won’t be able to use the radio.

Technically a LS can be swapped into a Lucerne LOL.

Yeah lol. I guess it would be probably quite a bit more involved though lol, really anything can be done. The amount of stuff I’ve done on my Lucerne is crazy, I’ve upgraded the UQ3 base 6 speaker system to UQA 9 speaker Harman Kardon, added factory navigation, added live NAV traffic with a newer XM module, added enclave reverse camera + rear seat A/C outlet and AV inputs for the radio.

I mean, really I’m trying to get to a point where I have the maximum spec lucerne cxl. pretty soon im gonna have to start taking stuff off the DTS. Fun times

Oh I understand, added the sat/nav, rear door speakers with OEM speaker panels, replaced all the speakers and added Bluetooth. But the biggest changes are in the suspension upgrades so it doesn't have that "lost" feeling on the road.

Yeah that’s true. Still got my factory suspension system, I need to change the front struts soon too. What options even are there for suspension upgrades? I’m assuming they are all aftermarket?

Thank you all for the advice. The head unit I selected has no antitheft since it is not OEM. It is off brand and just has a OEM look. However I did find a similiar alternative with confirmation on my Lucerne.

Best choice to maybe avoid any issues. A GM interface harness is something to consider if looking to retain steering wheel control and chimes unless the new unit has the ability.

I did find one that I was going to install originally. The axdis-gmln29. There is a PAC RP5-GM31. But the axdis seems to be more user friendly and more information can be found.
