2010 lucerne 3.9 v6
I'm strongly considering swapping the northstar into my 3.9 v6 lucerne but before I do that I want to swap the 4t80e in and hook it up to my column shifter, any way to do that? I heard there are kits to do it but i need to know which ones

No, too many things that will not match up mechanical and electronic components.

would be more of a head ache then anything. Go buy a Lucerne with a north star. And the newer north star motors in the Buicks are better than the first gen. Gm fixed all the bugs but still gotta keep an eye for obv failure points

Both the V8 and V6 (3.9) have almost identical 0-60 times (it says V8 is 7 and V6 is 8 but thats not true) . ALL V8's are limited to 124MPH in the Lucerne! The 3.9L V6 is supposed to be limited to 131MPH but in my CXL i've wrapped the needle past 140MPH so I duno where that comes from, unless I have a tune im not aware of?

If it were me I'd keep the V6! Easy to work on, parts are easier to get, better MPG.

Naw tbh imma just replace the car later this year

What do you think you want to get? If its a V8 might I suggest a Chevy Caprice PPV or keep it classy with a Cadillac DTS? The DTS has the same Northstar and if you get the Prominence version its 292HP! If you get a DTS get a black on black with factory chrome wheels and white walls!

I'm thinking a retired cop car like a charger hemi or crown vic, i don't mind a caprice but those just do it for me and they're just as enthusiast friendly
