First time user on the forum. Have a 1 owner 2005 park avenue. Here's what has been going on that I desperately need your assistance on because I know it's something small I'm missing.
So, the original wiper motor went out. Bought a new one from oreillys with lifetime warranty. That one went out after a few months. I put the new one on, everything worked fine for a while, then kept popping off the ball joint on the wiper motor pass side. Noticed the bushing was worn so I bought new linkages with bushings off of another park avenue with 65k miles. Installed them today. When I installed the new linkages on both ball joints, i indtalled the wiper arms back on and went to test it out. Theres a lot of tension on the wiper arms and when i turn the motor on they barely moved and then pop off the ball joint. I then removed the wiper arms and the cowl cover again and turned the wiper motor on with the linkages attached (just without the wiper arms on) and the process worked flawlessly. So that leads me to believe the motor and linkages are fine and that it's some thing with the wipers. I'm stumped. I've tried adjusting them. Removing then and putting them on in the "parked position" etc. Nothing works with the arms on. The mechanism works flawlessly without the arms on. Please help!!!
