Hello!

I am currently at 95k miles (đŸ˜© outside of warranty) and experiencing some slight jerking/stuttering when driving. Last week, I experienced some misfires and the engine light was blinking as well as the traction light appearing. However I took it in to a transmission shop and they took a peek at my spark plugs/coils. It was time for the spark plugs to be changed and the coils weren’t urgent but he recommended changing those as well..

However, I proceeded to change my own plugs (I did not change the coils) and I am still experiencing the “stutter” when gears shift.. It’s like it kicks back before proceeding.. I can not speed off (if that makes sense) without feeling the stutter at some point.. With that being said, I have to coast and be easy with the pedal.. Not driving like I normally drive, I have to drive like Miss Daisy (iykyk lol)

Clearly it’s not the quick fix with spark plugs so I’m wondering what else could it be? I know I have to take it in to the dealership but I’m weighing my options before taking it in..

That's your problem!!
That’s an easy fix! I’ve neglected to mention I will still change the coils (next task).. Just hoping that’s it afterwards. No major issues that requires a mechanic to get involved because I can change the coils myself..

My 2015 Buick Regal turbo started doing the same thing this week. Only I have gotten codes.

This may sound way too simple but how does your gas cap look? Andrew cracking in the seal? Is it dirty? You can clean it with WD40, both the gas cap and the connection port for the gas pump. Make sure you are tightening it completely after you get gas and not filling your tank while the car is on.

This could be causing a simple vacuum leak, which is making your motor have a disproportionate air/fuel mixture.

You should also consider getting a new gas cap, just in case. It may solve your issues! It did for me.

If those don’t work, I would try out replacing purge valve. It may be stuck open, which will give the same symptoms. Let me know any of these work out.

I own a 2015 Regal plus and just went through the SAME EXACT THING. Do not replace anything in your evap system, take my advice and save yourself the hundreds if not thousands it’s the coil packs. I replaced every component possible before getting to the coils. Lesson learned!

UPDATE!!!! Change the spark plugs AND ignition coils
. Very easy to do yourself
Save HUNDREDS and do the job yourself
I used ACDelco spark plugs and Duralast ignition coils for my vehicle
