My husband wants to do this because most 15 in tires are cheaper than the 17 in tires. But can this even be done? He is familiar with all that mechanic work stuff but I would much rather do a little research before buying the rims and whatnot. 🙂 Thanks!

As long as they are the right bolt pattern they will work. The only problem you'll run into is your speedometer will be off due to the different tire size unless you put on 15" tires that are the same height as the 17" tires

No you can't . A 15" tire will not stretch on to a 17" rim .

YES I DID . Did you ?
yep...........

In the end 4 17" tires will be cheaper than 4 15" tires & the necessary 4 wheels to put them on . :banghead:

Maybe 4-17" tires may be cheaper than the 15's with rims and tires, but look down the road... Next time she buys tires, she can buy the 15's and when she sells her Rendezvous, she can sell the rims😀 A bit of a no-brainer to me. Oh, and you read the question wrong... LMAO. Oh yeah, and if she buys the 4 rims at the junkyard, it would then be cheaper than buying 4-17" tires

true....,,,,

As long as the 15" wheels cleared the brakes, it would work. Also, having the much taller sidewalls will provide a more forgiving ride, which might also prolong suspension component wear and failure. As most of us already know, the RDV is hard on those components anyway.

Anyone know the diameter of the mini spare? If it's 15", that's a good sign.

Yes you can.......as long as the tires are the same Height.....I did; I used a 15" rim with a 5 on 115 bolt pattern from a chev van. but there is a catch I needed to use a 1/4 spacer in the rear to clear the caliper. There was no problem with the front. All is well
