My mechanic came back and said that my computer module needs to be replaced. The other day lights by the nav. clusters lit up with the ABS service warnings, traction and stability warnings. Mechanic is saying that it'll cost about $1,000 to replace the module. Is there anything else it could be? the car only has 72k miles so it seems a little early for that computer to go out out of nowhere.

If the mechanic has the tools to replace and reprogram a new ECM / BCM, I assume he has the know-how to diagnose a bad ECM / BCM, or whatever the problem is.

get a second opinion from a shop that ASE certified mechanics.

My mechanic is ASE and is an ASA memberas well as apart of the iATN. Just wondering what else it could be or if thats the only issue. Don't really understand how that component goes out at only 72k miles.

As mentioned, what computer module do you need replaced, the PCM, or BCM? If it is the PCM, click the link below for another option.
