Buick Ownership
2018 buick regal sportsback essence
I just purchased a 2018 Buick Regal Sportsback Essence. i have had it for about 1 month and just noticed condensation in rear seats where the seatbelt clicks in on both sides. I have no idea what it is it hasn't rained or snowed in weeks. my seats are starting to smell of mildew any thoughts??

Did you do a CarFax report on the car before buying it?
Private sale or a dealer?

Clogged drains is a possibility. Have you checked the carpets?
No wetness/moisture anywhere else. Just by buckles it’s bad enough to where it is leaving gross marks on leather seat and seatbelt

Water in the spare wheel well?
Something like that could wick the water up the seat belt receptacle strap possibly. Might be worth removing the rear seat.

I had a trunk leak on my Cruze and had mold from that. Had a body shop fix it and was much cheaper than the dealer (unless the owner is still under warranty).

I know you mentioned Carmax but do you know where the car actually came from ? If the mold persists I’d have a trusted mechanic confirm that car isn’t - wasn’t a flood car.
