Buick is #1 when it comes to length of ownership. The findings are based on a two year study that has over 650,000 data samples from throughout the United States. Buick is also first when it comes to the average age of a vehicle at time of trade-in.

Their reliability has been up near the top for quite a long time so I'm sure that's a big reason. OTOH I hate to say it, but most likely age demographics is the other 🙂

I wouldn't consider the resale to be all that hot, but older car resale spiked due to the lack of new cars produced for a few model years and Cash for Clunkers eliminating substantial numbers of old cars. There is a gap developing between those cars 2009 and below, and 2010 and above, give or take a year.

This is also the first time I've heard the GM 4-speed automatics considered particularly reliable... I've always considered them to be the weak spot of the car, so make sure they were cared for well.
