Today, I noticed a rattling noise coming from the engine compartment. I traced-it down to some wobbling radiator fan motors. Has anyone just replaced the electric motors by themselves? The actual fans are fine, just looks like the motors (Bearings) are causing the noise. From the RA website, it appears there are both a Left & Right motor.

Any experience with doing this? Thanks!

Thanks! I was debating on replacing the entire two-fan assembly (Around $120) but why? The OEM is still in decent shape and all that is needed are new motors.

Thanks for the replies guys! 🙂

I'd be afraid of replacing more than the motor. Replacement part quality is terrible. Pulling the entire fan assembly to change the motor is usually pretty simple. I've got a 'lifetime' warranty on the replacement motor too.

It's just four screws per motor that hold it to the actual housing. Unfortunately, getting at them is a PITA because they are facing the other way. Gotta love engineers!

It's easier to take the full shroud out... Not a bad job but still.... always more work than it needs to be.
