I just bought a 2004 Lesabre Limited . It runs good ,but there is a blue light flashing from a bulb against the windshield just in back of the rear view mirror . Is this a normal part of the security system ,or is there an easy way to turn it off. Thanks!

Sounds like an aftermarket install perhaps from previous owner. There's power to tap into at the mirror so it would be an easy install.
I own the same car and there is no blue light anywhere. The security system has a flashing red light on instrument panel. The only lights near the mirror is for Onstar & monochromatic function of mirror. Non of which flash and the only blue light is the on for Onstar wich is a white normal bulb that shines though a blue button.

I would remove it. Not only does it look stupid but in some states a blue light visible from the front of a vehicle is illegal.

Thanks for your reply, but after much googling ,I found the answer . You're right it is a remote starter, might be aftermarket, when you lock the door with the remote starter fob ,the light blinks. All I had to do was unlock the doors with the same fob and the blinking stopped. Ha .You have a 2004 Lesabre? I bought mine today. How do you like it ? There a so many features its going to take me a while to figure it out. Take care.

I love it. But I knew what to expect. I've owned Oldsmobiles up till now. Features are nice but for me having a vehicle that has quality in places most people wouldn't even see is the point. Just take it apart anywhere and you'll see just how well designed and built it is. The memory seating, heated mirrors and seats are just icing on the cake. You can see some of that quality in some simple things too. For instance, it is not too uncommon today to find cars with dual zone environmental controls. But most are mounted in the dashboard next to the components they interact with. On your lesaber the passengers controls are mounted on the door. Doesn't seam like much but buick actually ran the wires all the way over and through the door for connivance.

I installed a remote starter on mine too. As well as an aftermarket jvc head unit (touch screen with Bluetooth, GPS, rear view camera)

Oh and here's a tip. Unlock the doors before using the remote starter or you'll set off the alarm. Also turn off the rain sensing wipers before going through the car Walsh. When it rains, turn on the rear defroster (the heated mirrors come on too) it will keep them dry in a rain storm.

Thanks for the tips! I like the car, I just found out the battery is under the rear seat . That seems a little peculiar. I can't figure out how to set the time on my radio. I'll have to look it up. I am finally getting the hang of the memory feature ,if you use the lock on the door ,you don't have to reset the seats.Rides smooth, and my wife likes it too.I like what you did with your stereo. Take care.

the battery placement seems weird at first, but the terminals will never get corroded under there and the battery will last a long time.
