2016 Buick Regal FWD - Premium II - Smoky Gray Metallic - LTG 2.0L Ecotec Engine - Trifecta Tuned
Hello all,

This is in reference to my 2016 Buick Regal Premium II.

Has anyone swapped out the halogen bulb fog lights for some LEDs? I have the HID headlights and the halogen bulb fogs look kind of silly, would love to upgrade them to an LED to match.

If anyone has done this, I'd love to know what product you used and how easy the install was?

Cheers!

I wish that I had more occasion to use my foglights. It doesn't get foggy very often in South Florida. Maybe once every couple of years, if that.

Do you use your fogs if it isn't foggy? The headlights also must be on before the foglights will operate.

You actually can turn on the foglights with just the DRLs on, by pressing the foglight center button while the headlights are switched on "auto". It gets foggy here a decent amount, but this upgrade would be mostly for aesthetics. Cheers!

Yes, I've upgraded my Fog Lights to LED's
I've done LED's for the Headlights, Fog Lights and DRL's so far.

LED Fog Lights
LED Headlights
I purchased both of the above on Ebay, so far so good.
I've had them for over a year and a half already.

I purchased my DRL's at Wal-Mart on clearance.
The bulbs were Sylvania 7443.

I did forget to add: they were extremely easy to swap out.
Just reach up and under the bumper in the area where the Fog Lights are located.
There is a place in the shield (or at least there was in mine) for your hand so you can change the Fog Light Bulb.
Just reach in, locate bulb, twist 1/4 turn, pull out bulb and unplug.

It took me a little longer on the set I received.
They had the wrong O-Ring on the New Bulbs and they wouldn't lock back into place.
I ended up figuring out the problem myself and swapped out the O-Ring from my Old Halogen
Bulbs with the O-Ring from the New LED bulbs.
The Ebay Seller did send me an Email afterwards apologizing that they'd forgotten to send a card with that information on it.
This was a day after I'd already figured out the problem, a little late.
They told me New Stock would have the correct O-Ring and would exchange if needed!

Went with my wife last Friday to see her Dad about 25-30 minutes away.
There are some wooded areas on the Road we take and it does sometimes get Foggy along there.
Just happened, last Friday night was a beautiful night!

On the way home it was a Dark Clear Night (No Fog), but about 3/4's of the cars/trucks/suv's coming at
us had their D*mn Fog Lights on, many of these vehicles having HID Lights.
Most of the Vehicles were Trucks and SUV's as many of these people probably live out in farming areas.
There was a Pickup Truck that came our way that had Lights stacked 3 high and D*mn were they bright.
There was very little Diming of the light like there should have been, just a bunch of idiots!
Below is a picture similar to what we saw coming towards us, it really seemed much brighter:

That is one bad-assed truck. 🤨

I'm sure it is, any of those Super Duty Trucks are!

I was talking to my son at the Buick/GMC Dealership the last time I had my car in for
work, there was a GMC Sierra sitting there waiting to be picked up.
They had just sold it and it was awaiting pickup later that day, it had just been detailed.
I went over and took a look at it, I got sticker-shock, that Truck was well over $100,000.
I don't think that truck was missing too many options, just a beautiful truck!

I got the Auxito 6000k headlights and fog lights on bugspop1's suggestion a few months ago. They look soooooo much better than the stock tired lights. I had already upgraded the DRL's to Sylvania Zevo LED's, which also look very nice. I actually use my fog lights quite a bit now, as they are super bright.

Only thing to note is that the o-rings for the headlights were the wrong size. I had to use the o-rings from the stock headlight bulbs to get them to fit. The mounting bracket for one side was also incorrect, but I was able to modify it to fit.

I am having an issue putting in the drivers side light on my car, and this is probably it. Tomorrow I will swap out the o-rings. My led has three stubs on it to place. Do you remember if it was the top, bottom left or bottom right tab you removed? Thanks!

Sorry, I thought I had posted pics. I only had to remove a small piece of the tab. The one pic shows the OEM headlight next to the LED, and the fact that the tabs are reversed. You can't just remove the tab ring and flip it, as it is offset, which would change the distance that the light mounts. The 2nd pic shows the small bit that I cut off with a pair of side cutters. It is thin metal, and trims up easily. Then I just had to swap the o-rings from the old to the new lights.

Fixed my lights this morning. The tabs on my lights were very small so no trimming was needed. But switching the o rings made them go in like butter. Thanks again!

Flow,
Those LED's were a bit different than the LED's I posted the link for.
Mine didn't have any Metal in the Center of the Circuit Boards or on the Sides coming
up the Circuit Boards like in your photo.
Mine were just a Circuit Board with Chips on each side.

Like Regal0607, all I had to do was swap out the o-ring and then it popped right in,
no trimming involved!
Below is a picture of the Bulbs I have for my Fog Lights, the Headlights are similar
with the exception of the Plug.
The Headlights have a Cord with a Canbus incorporated into the cord to help fight against
flickering.

Those are the correct Bulbs for the Fog Lights on my 2015 Buick
Regal 9145/9140 , not sure about your vehicle Regal LTD Coupe?
The Headlights on my 2015 Regal are a 9012 Bulb.

Mine does not have "fog lights" but does have "parking lights" I now more or less use as fog lights/daytime running lights. The original assemblies as seen in profile picture were fogged so were replaced with new factory assemblies and the old amber bulb was pretty useless at anything other than maybe being seen. I was able to find a random off brand 3157 Xenon I think 27w (a tad high) bulb for them (so I ordered 24 as I wasn't sure I'd ever see them on the market again!) and have been very happy with them still on the first set. Unfortunately the electronics system wouldn't accept them without issue in other places such as the tail lights as they really call for 3057 but the Crystalline optioned tail lights still look crisp with original type bulbs. If Sylvania put out a bulb of these types in their zXe line I would definitely buy them but settled for whatever fitting xenon halogen bulb I could find. Anyways I would recommend the zXe bulb line as replacements for anyone with factory halogen yellow bulbs as an alternative to unnatural "light emitting diode" luminaries. They have a zXe Gold line also that I have used and which even helped turned heads in a damned Taurus but I would stick with the standard zXe line for greater brightness; they might "look" more like LEDs than what I have though. Have had nothing but good luck with them in several vehicles over 10s of thousands of miles and they are domestically manufactured and also DOT approved where many imported LED bulbs are not. I am fairly particular.

Pretty hard to take an effective picture of this but upper headlight bulbs are zXes probably in use 4 years already, brought over from another car I had; lower "parking light" bulbs are these:
