Hello,

I have recently purchased a 2WD 2004 Buick Rendezvous. All in all I am very happy with the purchase but the fuel and temperature gauges do not work. I was aware of this when purchased the vehicle, but I really got a great deal. I have been doing some research on Google and all I ever find is that the connections on the sending unit may be bad, but I am not quite convinced. The gauge locations on the dashboard are symmetrical and both temperature and fuel gauges are situated toward the bottom of the dashboard. So I was wondering if maybe there was something wrong with the cluster. It could be a problem with the sending unit at the gas tank and coincidentally something may be wrong with the temperature gauge I am simply not sure.

Both gauges have the same symptoms. The tick marks are only on the top half of the gauge but the gauge hand likes to stay on the bottom half of the gauge. The hand on the fuel gauge will move around every now and again but the temperature gauge generally stays pointed straight down.

Tank you for any help you can offer.

I had all my stepper motors replaced.

First the Speedomoter went, then the gas gauge, then the temp gauge.

Get them all replaced, its a wise choice lol

go to a garage and have them hook up the tech computer. It will tell you if the fuel signals, and temp signals are good.

then you won't waste time repairing a cluster if it turns out to be a wiring issue (c-305 btw).

Mine was a cluster stepper motor issue. Replaced cluster but now many electrical items no longer work. Damn!
