2017 Encore
Hi,

I've tried finding the fuel filter location for my 2017 Encore preferred model and have come up with nothing. I am thinking it is attached to the pump and dreading having to go into the tank. I am wondering if anyone has come across this issue and if you did the maintenance yourself what is the easiest way to do it. I know some models of cars have a cover above the gas tank so you can access the tank from the inside of the car but I have not looked yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

Fuel Filter

There is no listing for a fuel filter for the Encore and this procedure isn't even in the maintenance log. So I say let a sleeping lion sleep

Yeah but I am getting a check engine light for O2 sensor and lean fuel. For all my other cars this means to replace the fuel filter but I guess not on this vehicle. Im guessing it is probably the strainer on the pump that is clogged.

You aren't supposed to guess, you do a fuel pressure test.

Was a 171 code. Took it to a mechanic buddy of mine and he looked up the code. #1 issue is a leaky valve cover. We took a look to see if that was the issue and indeed it was leaking.

I have same issue. Chaged the valve cover and now car is jerking like she is not getting gas to engine. Still throwing the same code. Been back and forth 3 times and $1200 later, check engine light still on. The even replace a flex hose that had a small leak. I dont know what to do.
