Would you use a thin coat of gasket sealer on the gasket for this “end-around” cap on the LIM?

The service manual says not to, but I’ve read several posts saying a thin cost of RTV black is a good idea.

What about the thermostat housing?

Thanks!

A thin coat wouldn't hurt for the end cap. As far as the thermostat it's not necessary as long as you have the tapered seal that slips around the thermostat itself. Never had one leak. 😀
