Within the last week or so my car has been giving me a message stating to shift in park. This is ignoring considering the car is only one year old. I am at the store today and I have to start the car multiple times and shift in drive, neutral, reverse, and park to turn the car off including the music. When I tried to exit the car, I hear a ding ding like I left car on and keys in car, so I got back in turned the car on again and shifted through all gears until it finally stated park and this is becoming a real problem.

You should be covered by the bumper to bumper warranty. Make a service appointment with the dealer.

I find that after I turn off the engine and see, shift to park, by quickly flicking the button on the front of the shifter it goes off. When I took it to the dealer it wouldn't do it, of course, and they couldn't find anything.

Thank you for the information. My buick has been at dealership almost a week. They have to repair the part. I forgot the name of the part. It is on backorder. They did give me a rental until my car is repaired.

Well known issue with numerous GM vehicles over several years. There is a class action suit against GM on this issue although currently, the Trailblazer is not listed on the suit. Need to get it included along with its twin, the Buick Encore GX.

Have you gotten any updates on your part. My car has been at the dealership since December 18 with no estimated delivery date on the part

I received a text message from the dealership about an Estimated ship date between March 15-March29. My car has been at the dealership since December 5th. Almost 6 weeks tomorrow.

I hate that for you (No loaner). Hopefully, they will give you a update soon.

Why would you leave your car at a dealership for 6 weeks for something that doesn't prevent you from driving your car and isn't safely related. Tell them to call you when the part is in and they can do the repair.

First of all, my car is not driveable. That is why they provided me with a loaner. Plus I am not a child so mind your business.

in case you haven't seen it, there's a related thread in here

Next time leave the ignition off and try to quickly flick the button on the front of the shifter. It won't do it for the dealer when I've taken there. Buick should know what's causing this and by now be able to make the repairs when you make an appointment.

Great, hopefully the dealership will take our word for it doing it. I tried to convince dealership twice now and they wouldn't do anything unless they could reproduce the problem, which of course they couldn't.
