GM performance parts Regal Stage Kit 2012-2013

The CAI replaces the factory air box with one to accept a cone filter (with a clear cover) and replaces the piping from the box to the turbo inlet with a hard pipe, it still pulls the air from the front of the grill up into the bottom of the air box.

But just like remote start I will bet it won’t be available for 2011s. The dealer has to call tech assistance to obtain a special “code” to be able to flash your ECM and with a 2011 ECM they wont/ cant do it.

Holy Cow! How did GM sneak this out there!?

Excitting! But too bad its for the LHU version of the GS. I cant use it 🙁

The link you provided says the factory warranty is retained by GM. This is very encouraging!!

This line from the install manual makes me concerned about retaining the warranty.

Hello Everyone,
Yes this does retain the factory warranty in all 50 states.
Price has been adjusted

My 12 GS is currently stock with trifecta tune, I work for a Buick Dealer and ordered mine yesterday. I'll post pics once it is installed and programmed

Defiantly looking forward to your review. I hope its great. With the pricing it should be pretty competitive with the other tuners. As a dealer, can you also tell us what your book has listed cost/hrs for the install and software update.

That part number you posted doesn’t show up in GMs part catalog, I can only find it available online, did you order it through GM or one of the online retailors?

I would say that is involving the use of the manual, not the parts.

CED, will the CAI be available separately?

parts arrived today, I ordered it right through our dealership parts department. It is a new kit that was just released in the last week so if your dealer hasn't updated their catalog it won't be in there.
I am waiting on techline to get all of the calibrations in order for the ecm which they tell me will be today. Here are some pics of the components

As far as I know it is only sold as a kit. CAI and tune

I have a hypothetical question:
Seeing as you are replacing your Trifecta with this, does that mean you are getting your warranty coverage back? If you had to take it to another dealer, could they see that at one point you had a different tune and deny coverage even though you since converted back to GM products?

Truck,
Im running a trifecta myself and am curious, going to this from the trifecta any noticed improvements?

This looks like a great option for our cars!! Not only do you get a factory warranty tune, you get an intake as well.. and for only $600.

I'm very interested to hear from those that get this package and how the tune compares to stock, or another tune for that matter.

Question: Will the dealer charge to flash the ECM, or is that included in the $600 price?

My question is: Where's the MY 14' and 15' kit?

My question is: Where's the MY 14' and 15' kit?

Took them this long to introduce a kit for the LHU Regal. So, it will probably be a while, if at all, for the LTG (2014+ MY).

To all those wondering, if you have a TRIFECTA calibration, we can update it to include this intake 🙂

Anyone with questions, please contact us via www.wot-tuning.com/support

the ecm used will show the last 10 calibrations flashed to the ecm. Anytime there is a major engine failure the dealer is required by GM to read this information from the ecm and forward it to GM powertrain for inspection. If there is a calibration that is seen by them that is not a GM calibration, they will most likely not honor your warranty on the engine, even if it was a prior calibration and not a current one.
The price of installation of the kit and for the dealer to program is extra. The labor time for install of the CAI has not been published yet. The actual "tune" is included in the kit, you will be paying the dealer for the technicians time and equipment to flash in the calibration. expect to spend between $50 -100 for this. which is still better than $150+ for a specialized $10 cable that all the other tunes require.
I didn't hear back from Techline today on the calibrations. Hopefully they will get them together tomorrow so I can get this thing installed and programmed

I priced it out at my local dealer here in Ontario, Canada. $750 CDN, which converts to roughly $600 USD

I really think you need to do a dedicated build thread on your install and document everything. I think it would be a great help to those who are just looking for a tune and CAI.

The chance of major engine failure because of a trifecta tune is about as likely as winning the powerball. If trifecta was causing warranty issues and damage to vehicles they would not have a business. I have had multiple items repaired under warranty and my local dealership knows I have a tune. Hell a few of their sales guys asked for rides and to drive my 2012 regal GS. I even had one sales guy ask me if I was going to sell my car that he would be interested in it.

This forum is great information for enthusiasts.

I can do a dedicated thread. I completly agree with you on the chance of engine damage with a Trifecta tune. The question was asked that if you had a trifecta tune and you went to the GM tune would your warranty be regained. A tune will not void your warranty. A tune gives GM the ability to decline warranty repairs. ie. regal comes in with any non-GM tune and it has a broken axle, a heated seat that doesn't work and a bad radio, It will be covered under warranty, If not you need to A. find another dealer, or B. call GM customer assistance scenerio 2 .Regal comes in with a non-GM tune and a piston is blown apart. The dealer will identify the failed component, then is required to email a copy of calibrations to GM Powertrain for evaluations. If they find any non-GM calibrations in history they have the ability to decline paying for the repairs. I have seen this go both ways. 08 G8 L76 rod bearing failure, had aftermarket cals for speedo and emmissions (had gear swap and cats deleted) GM paid claim as these where not considered "power adders" HHR SS LNF detonated piston, had "power adder" calibrations, GM did not pay claim
