Infotainment system has multiple individual pieces that make Up the system. The radio/cd is one component of the systemUnclear how you are going to replace an infotainment system with a radio? How is going to connect to the existing systems?
What year is the car?Infotainment system has multiple individual pieces that make Up the system. The radio/cd is one component of the system
It’s a 13 model and It’s the same radio from the same model car. But is the radio imprinted with the vin# or is it only in one of the other components? My system has 4 components as much as I can tell anyway. What year is the car?
Post a link to the radio.
I have a 17 and the radio is an integral part of the display, you cannt just replace the radio.
i guess what I'm asking is, if i remove the damaged radio that's in my car and replace it with the radio from the wrecked car at the junkyard is it going to function in my car or will it need reprograming to operate? also, has anyone had to pay for reprograming? how much? It’s a 13 model and It’s the same radio from the same model car. But is the radio imprinted with the vin# or is it only in one of the other components? My system has 4 components as much as I can tell anyway.
GROUND WIRE ON MY FARAD COMPACITOR CAME LOSE AND IM JUST LUCKY THE RADIO IS ALL I LOST. MORAL TO THE STORY GO BACK AND CHECK THOSE BOLT OR USE LOCTITE.I REALLY APRECIATE THE INFO. I FOUND OUT MY AUDIO EQUIPMENT WAS DISCONTINUED AMD IS NO LONGER AVALIBLE FOR PURCHASE. IVE ALWAYS BEEN A BUICK GUY, BUT THIS SITUATION HAS HOW ME RETHINKING THINGS>I'm not sure about the 2013's, but on the 2015's and 2016's Radio Module and the HMI Module do need programmed to your vehicles VIN.
The HMI Module is located behind the Touchscreen and the CD Player.
The Radio Module is located near the Passenger Side Kick Panel (Glove Box must be removed to access the Radio Module).
If you are replacing the Radio Module don't forget to change the Cabin Filter while you're there, it will save you from tearing it apart at a later date.
You never really told us what's happening that you need to replace the Radio.
Not 100% sure what part you're wanting to replace?
As for the Touchscreen and the CD Player, I'm not sure if those need programmed to the VIN or not?
I did an Apple Car Play/Android Auto upgrade on my 2015 Regal and had to send the
HMI and Radio Modules (Sourced on Ebay) in to be reprogrammed to my VIN.
White Automotive and Media Services reprogrammed the modules to my VIN.
