Regarding a 2000 PA Ultra (which is a "new" car for me), I noticed that Gran Touring sports suspension was an option. How can you tell which suspension is on the car? In looking for struts and shocks on Ebay, there is no shortage of them for a 2000 PA, however, none of them make any reference to Gran Touring or sports suspension.

Look for SPID code Y56 (GTS) on the sticker in the trunk, usually located on the spare tire cover. Try RockAuto for a better selection.

I like that website--but no mention of gran touring suspension. I will have to check-out the trunk for the code you referenced. Thanks.

Thanks, found that Y56 code ! Also learned from the dealer that the air shocks that I need to replace were the same on both the Gran Touring sports model and the regular PA.

Many satisfied customers use MONROE Part # MA822. Price: $58.79 ea @ http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

When the dealer quoted a price, it was about $300.00 for the shocks AND another $100+ for a "kit" to allow the shocks to be connected because the design of the new shocks had changed from the original shocks. And this was only parts, no installation. 😱 BUT, the dealer was quick to point out, they would sell an aftermarket shock for $170.00 that didn't require the kit. Dealers are always taking care of us. 🙄

Struts

Are the struts the same for the gran touring sports suspension as the non-gran touring model?

Agree with this "Many satisfied customers use MONROE Part # MA822. Price: $58.79"

I believe the Gran Touring Suspension is more of a difference with the springs than the shocks/struts.
