Is there a specific rpo code, or special badging for the gse package? I just purchased a 2000 regal gs. On my insurance card it shows it as a GS\GSE. I have a fuzzy copy of the rpo codes provided by a local dealership, but can't clearly make out some of the codes. They printed off the build order, took pictures, then emailed them to me. I don't know if there is a rpo code specific to the gse package, or if there is a solid way to tell. To my understanding the GSE package just bundles chrome wheels, a sunroof, and a monsoon system into one package in order to not have to add them individually. I have a sunroof, and chrome wheels, but no monsoon system. it does seem to have the wrong radio as it only has a tape deck and the rpo code shows a cd player. But im pretty sure the stock system was still not a monsoon system. Only 6 speaker locations, and a badge saying concert sound II. So, i'm kind of puzzled as to what it is.

Did you look in the spare tire well for the Service Parts Identification label? It has all the RPO codes.

I have. It looks like the cars been recently painted. No rpo code sticker on the trunk lid, or on the underside of the spare tire cover, also checked the glove box to no avail.

GSE has a dash plaque that says Regal and GSE under it next to the ac vent. But the difference between GS and GSE you need to do some research
Thank you, thats what i was looking for. The badge says GS. The main reason for concerning myself is mostly with the insurance. I borrowed money from my boss to make the purchase and agreed to keep full coverage on it, which is running just over 200 a month (mostly due to a recent ticket). But they did the same thing on a 02 GTP i had. It was a gtp, but they had it listed as a 40th anniversary edition gtp. It was a gtp, but the anniversary edition had badging, a different spoiler and only came in one color iirc. Mine did not have any of those. Don't know if a gse would be more to insure than a gs, if there is any difference at all. Just don't get why they list it as the same, when it seems like a gse would have a slightly higer resale price, and consequently slightly higher insurance rates. As far as differences, the only option i seem to not have is the monsoon system, and on-star.

On Kelly Blue Book the GSE package added $40 to the maximum trade in value

The difference between the regular GS and GSE is basically options. I consider my Regal to be a GSE because its fully loaded, although there is true GSE's out there. If you buying a brand new one back then, the difference between a loaded GS and a GSE was the price discount/Dash plague. All brochures don't mention a "GSE" model.

GSE will always be fully loaded while most GS's out there will be missing some features (Common missing feature is heated seats). The newer a GS is, the more optional features became standard. There's very few options that weren't even included with the GSE like the trunk-mounted (Dealer Only) 12-disc CD changer (Source: Buick Regal - Page 29).
