Recently had an order from TascaParts cancelled, same reason given as GMPartsDirect: "Part 39156640 is currently on national backorder with the manufacture and has no estimated date of resupply. We do not currently have this item in stock at our warehouse and are unable to acquire it at this time". I also received no response from the company that supposedly made the emblems for GM. So long story short I'm still looking for one also.

Did you actually receive one in hand? My dealer said they are due to be available mid October. Any idea on how to remove and install on the seat? Hard to tell how they are attached.

Edit: I ordered a pair from ebay so we'll see if they actually arrive. Found an old thread about removal, looks like there is a metal clip in the seat and the badge should just pull off/snap in.

I've removed my GS seat badges and replaced them with the GSi badges. Them come off with ease. Here is my post with pictures.

Update:

Since last posting on this thread I had the rear calipers painted, which I posted on another thread the pictures.

I believe at this point for the most part the exterior is completed. I don’t think I missed anything, although it would have been nice to get the fold in mirror, I just don’t have the money at the moment.

As for the interior I installed the “GSi” seat emblems today. It’s a quick fast removal and install. Literally just give it a good pull and the emblems come out and pop the new ones in.

At this point all I am looking for is the “GSi” gear shift knob, switching the...

Yep that's the post we were referring to, thanks. My car left the factory with a GS and a GSi badge. Couldn't locate either until now, basically whichever I found first I'd change.

Well.........surprise surprise..........the order got cancelled ("There's been an issue processing your order and a refund has been issued.......after they confirmed the item was shipped). Guess we'll have to wait until mid-October until they are supposedly going to be available from GM.
