Hi, I'm not a dealership and they can't start my 1985 Riviera.I replace the battery and the security system went off and we cannot bubypass the security system to start the car any suggestions. The manuel stuff of hitting the door lock and unlock the door and put in the key and doesn't work

Who is they?
Is it a factory security system or aftermarket?

Hi it was the factory one. Dealership Forman with 41 yrs experience managed to shut it off but it burnt the ignition regulator in the distributor.

Hey
I've had this issue in the past.
One way that worked was to remove both contacts from battery and attaching them together for about 20-30 min. It'll reset the connection.
Another reason could be that your ground is not fully contacting and causing the security to repeatedly reset.
Hope it helps

Thanks for the tip. So far it is ok. My only other issues are a blend door and the radio keeps blowing fuses.

The blend door gets sticky after burns fuses due to constant stress on the motor. If you open under the dash and clean it, it should fix the issue. Hope it helps. I don't know why the radio is burning fuses though.
Cheers
