Help I have a 1978 Buick Regal sport coupe turbo charge.....a couple weeks ago I was driving and the turbo light came on and I lost all power I could do anything but come to a stop after that it ran a little shaky but then it started knocking and at first it didn't do it all the time only off and on. So we unhooked the turbo hoping that would fix the problem now it knocks all the time which of coarse could be the engine but also the turbo light still comes on and I lose all power and can't accerlate only continue to slow down now if I let the car sit a few minutes I can drive it about 4 miles before it starts acting up again. I am not sure if the engine is going or if it could be some problem with the turbo please if anyone has any ideas let me know.

I think someone else on this forum had a similar problem where the car went into limp mode (no turbo). I'll do a search and see if I can locate the thread.
