Buick Ownership
2014 buick regal
So currently, im working on my 2014 regal T. And i put in my new 2.5hmi unit, my screen no longer displays. With the 2.5 or 2.0 nothing comes up. So im wondering, i used ai (only reason i do is for car parts basically) and it was saying tha due to there being no pre made splits, for the 2.5 i would have to splice the black wires from the black plug on the 2.5 to the, with one going back into itself and the other splitting to the blues black cable? Im honestly really confused on the matter and i just want carplay, i just want to not look down ever 20 seconds for maps. If there is any way yall could help lmk, i plan on getting the black plug to split to the blue this Saturday and then hopefully get it programmed this Monday.

Where did you purchase your 2.5 HMI Unit and was it New or Used?
Is it Programmed to your VIN (You'll have to pay to have the HMI Programmed to your VIN)?

If it is Programmed to your VIN, something is wrong with the HMI Module, you shouldn't
have to Splice any wires to make this work (it's basically Plug and Play).
Just make sure the Corresponding Colored Plugs are plugged in tightly.

My first attempt at this was with a Used HMI and a Used Radio Module.
I sent the Used Modules to WAMS (White Automotive Media Services).
It worked great for a couple of years, but then one day everything on the Touchscreen was
Black (The Backup Light wasn't even working).
I could still listen to the Radio but the Controls under the Touchscreen didn't work either.
Luckily the Steering Wheel Controls worked, so I was able to listen to my Programmed
Radio Stations and also control the volume, but that was it.

I finally put my Old 2.0 HMI back in and had all functions back again, the Touchscreen was
working again (but No Car Play).
I ended up purchasing a New HMI thru another company (MVI) Mobile Video Integration.
I went with this company because WAMS wouldn't sell me just a New HMI, WAMS wanted to
sell me the Kit: HMI and Radio Module at almost $1,000.

I now have had my Car Stereo with Car Play/Android Auto working for nearly 2-3 years.
It is great having those feature that Car Play offers, but it is expensive.
