Needless to say, I almost lost the regal after it was engulfed in flames racing my buddies built srt 158mph (I still won). Shy of one day from trading it in.

New plans to put a forged bottom end and 6266. Will keep everyone updated

"... Are you making popcorn or is that your Regal I smell..."

Glad you and the ride are still in one piece brother.. Dam

Ordered a forged bottom end, wiseco n callies, going to run the zfr until the winter so I can get her back on the road this month

I know your pretty damn busy right now but be honest , how sick and tired are u with this car lol

Too much heat is maybe a reason to melt or broke the spark plug electrode, the LDK has higher compression ratio than the Cobalt, therefore will produce more heat inside piston than the LNF.

Well, I was going to trade it in... so this was a tad unexpected. Yeah it gets old but I knew it could happen, part of the game.
It did not take the head out, it was a miracle, tne rings held tne piston together. When i let off the gas the wrist pin let loose. IMHO when zzp dyno tuned it the ring cracked, smoked on my way home and when I did a few pulls it let loose. So I could spend 3 do a stock motor in our spend 5 n do it tne right way, go figure it Happens right before I move in. Time to work more ot 🙁

Yeah that looks about right for your power level on stock internals. If you are at +400 HP then you are definitely at the stock engine internal limits. And it looks like you exceeded those limits. With forged rods and pistons you should be good to go to +600 HP.

Yeah I am hoping once my block is done I can do the balancer so it will help with revving out to the RPM I am at. I need new crank sensor, possibly oil pan and a few other things but I should be able to put it back together without a retune since the head was fine. I really am sketch about adding more power to our power train so I just want to leave it at the power it was at (was really impressive). Block is being built by Jeffrey Nelson Reiland from Pittsburgh and being shipped to my buddies shop. Hopefully it will be running and being broke in by this following weekend--- we will see.

Ouch! Good luck with the build. Built bottom end is the way to go for sure if you are keeping the car.

Yah I'm going to keep it now lol

Haha! Nice. It's still a fun car to surprise people in at the power level you will be at!

So you have your mind made up on the Precision Turbo?

Yeah, i live down the street from precision, used to work there actually. Going to break in the motor with the zfr n order the manifold n waste gate this winter. Add timing and boost around 35lbs
