I put a 5 in lift, new shocks, new brakes and new tires. The tires are 31x10.5 mud tires. I have been having transmission problems. One shop told me the gear ratio or some sort of ratio was off for the tires but another shop said it just needed an upgrade. I went with the upgrade because it was cheaper than the entire transmission rebuild but it seems like I lost a lot of power and the transmission is failing again. I have a warranty with the shop that is sure it's not a transmission problem so they'll fix it again. Do I need to adjust the gear ratio on the rear axle of my car or what? anybody got any ideas or did I just ruin my gorgeous vehicle by trying to be extreme?

The tranny will shift just fine, with the bigger tires. the speedo will be off, but that is it. the taller tires do put a slight bit more strain on it, but nothing serious. The trucks use the same tranny, and many of them came STOCK with tires taller than 31".

More tranny shops know how to mess up a 4L60E, than know how to help it, or rebuild it right.
