OP. I dont recall how the armrest on the split bench retains, but I used to have a car with it. If I rememeber right there is two fasteners which hold the armrest to the bracket its on, which is at the base where it pivots. the bracket is entirely part of the driver seat assembly, and if you wanted you could pull the seat to get better access. But I would look at the very sides/base of the armest and you should find something

I did it guys. I had to fight it a little bit to get it out but I got it. Im going to have to try figure out a less rough way for pulling out the ones at the pick n pull yard as to not break it during removal lol. The pivot screws were keeping it in thank you @BuickGirlFromMars. Thanks for the diagram @2007LucerneCXL. If I find anything further that would make it easier for people doing it in the future ill update it here.

I just pulled my broken center console out of my 2002 Buick LeSabre. I saw the two star bit screws that held part of the center console in place. I pulled those out thinking I would be able to then remove that part of the center console. No luck. Looking at pictures of some on Ebay, I see that there is also the pivot "dowel arm" piece of the center console. I had to wedge a flat head and bend the center console away from where it was held in place so I could slide both of these sides out. It seems that you had a similar problem and had to be pretty rough getting it out. Do you have any tips? I am headed the pick n pull yard to do grab the replacement one soon as well.

Old post but there are 4 10mm nuts if memory serves correctly under the seat/rear cup holder that holds the entire console in place. Take those out and the entire console can be removed, again it’s been a while taking them out of mail cars. The photo is from the backseat under the rear of the console IMG_0900.webp
