iPhone 6 plus just says indexing when plugged in

I recently upgraded to a IPhone 6 plus and when I plug my phone in it just says indexing forever or it just won't even acknowledge that the phone is plugged in at all. Has anyone else had an issue with this? It read my old iPhone 5 just fine. I have a 2013 Buick LaCrosse
