So after trying to keep the exhaust ports clean and failing, i've decided to put the plasti-dip on them. It still keeps that GS look but its much easier to keep clean.

I also decided to do my grill too give it a cleaner look up front.
i have since taken it off the Buick logo but i might end up spraying it again.

Looks good. Plasti-dip is a cheap and fairly easy mod. I did my grill blacked out but decided to take the plasti dip off the emblem and the chrome "ring". I think it gives it a nice classy look.

i did the exact same thing and it keeps it so much cleaner looking , glad i did it

Wow, I never thought of just doing that insert of the exhaust port, looks damn good. I'll have to do that, I hate the soot on there.

I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere, but how does the plastidip hold up on the grill when you give it a wash?

It holds up really well to a spray wash but not so well to a hand wash.

I haven't noticed it peeling away at all.

yeah its not a huge change in appearance but it sure helps with the soot.

So, how does this stuff go on? Did you mask off the surrounding area and just spray it down?

What did you use to clean the plastic off before applying or does it even matter?

I can't even figure out what to do about those tail sections just to clean them. Nothing seems to remove the soot.

Pretty much...check out some youtube videos it will give an idea how to work with it. I just cleaned off the soot the best i could and took some steel wool to it then wiped it down with alcohol.

Great idea on the coloring the exhaust port. Did you take the ports off when you sprayed them on or did you leave the ports on??? Is taking the ports of a difficult job??? Are the ports now a matte finish or a semi gloss or gloss finish??

They stayed on the car and it was an easy job. The plasti dip was a matte color.

if you dont know about plasti dip and how to use it check out that video(and be amazed haha). i used a lot less tape and covered up more of the car with news paper and just a drop cloth. So essentially after you watch that video, i loosely taped around the port and grill and peeled the excess away.
