Keyfob opens trunk

Please help.

I have two KEY FOBS.
One of them works fine (however, I lost it this weekend)
The second key fob pops my trunk every time I hit "lock" or "unlock" on my keyfob.
Basically, any button I press, my trunk pops open.

IF, i avoid using the remote on the keyfob and use the actual key to unlock my driver door, the alarm will go off until I start the ignition.

What's causing this ? How can I fix it?

If one worked correctly and the other doesn't you have a defective key fob

The remote may have water damage on the circuit board causing this problem. Cleaning the board may solve the issue, but you have to break open the housing to get to it. Replacement housing are available on Amazon and AliExpress. Here is a video that shows how to break it apart if you need it. I have replaced the housing on mine without any issues, just be careful.
