Hello everyone first time posting thought I would give it a shot. So I had check engine light come on and had loss of power almost like limp mode running rough. I got home checked codes and had P1125 (Accelerator Pedal Position) & P2138. I left the car overnight and the check engine turned off and ran fine. The next morning went to start it and the battery was completely drained. I did some research and found could be wiring issue shorting out on intake manifold but checked harness and didn’t see any damaged wire. Anyone have a clue what could be the issue?

Thanks,

How old is your battery? It's possible that the battery was beginning to fail and threw some random codes. Then it breathed it's last breath.

Just replaced the battery 2 months ago. I’m thinking it must be draining from a short somewhere.

Thanks for your reply! (You'd be amazed at how many people come to this site, ask questions and are never heard from again.)

A problem with the battery was my first guess. If that can be eliminated then you're right, something is draining the battery.
I'm no electrician but I'm sure you (or someone qualified) should be able to detect any abnormal amp draw while everything is turned off. Also I'd be curious... when the car is running, is the alternator charging normally.?.

Best of luck to you. Electronic problems can sometimes be a real PITA. Luckily, yours sounds like a (relatively) easily traced issue rather than an elusive/intermittent problem.

Hey there, just a heads up.My 09 did had both a throttle position sensor fail and in addition at the same time a pedal sensor also fail. So, tho yours may have been nuisance faults due the elec. system; if once resolved you are still getting the other- I ended up having to go through one bad-new a/m pedal assy (integrated sensor) and also had read that replacing the whole throttel body may be a better choice than necc. just the TPS fwiw... Also had to go through 1 bad (new) a/m ignition module on my 09 with ~ 200k miles. I obviously have not had best of luck with sone non OEM parts but if there is a warr. and easily swappable then I take the gamble. With electrical parts though many (not absolutely though) are not warranted if pkg is opened...for good reason I suppose. But if they are NOT covered(just in case), then I might opt for OEM first time.

Just replaced accelerator pedal assembly with duralast sensor from autozone yesterday and it is running great no codes. I cleared the codes and check engine light has stayed off. Hopefully that solved this issue. Thanks for everyones input I appreciate it.
