2011 Buick Regal Turbo (T05)
Okay my beloved Buick Regal Peeps, you guys are wicked awesome and I appreciate everyone's insight. So, I am thinking about replacing my thermostat on my 2011 Regal T. She has 119K miles on her and she shows no sign of getting hot or running sluggish. Thanks to one's reply on my post, I need to get her 3rd Transmission Oil Change set up. Now, I got the water pump replaced at the dealer at 60K miles due to it started to fail and it sounded like it was about to grind itself out. I imagine the fluid was dropped and changed and then filled back up when the water pump was replaced. But I'm sure that the original thermostat is in there. I'm just concerned about her mileage is getting high and I don't plan on parting with my Ole Buick. I would greatly appreciate anyone's insight on location of the thermostat and how much of a royal pain is it to change. Thanks guys!!:headbang:

Hey again,

Normally you follow the upper radiator hose back to the block and where it enters the block is where the thermostat is housed. I haven't even looked into that on mine. Honestly I'd leave it alone unless you really want to replace it. You might want to change the coolant seeing that you're at 5 years now!

It is located in the back right corner area of the engine. Follow the hoses. Top piece has two hoses entering and two bolts to remove. Once off....should come out. Coolant needs to be drained.

As mentioned, I would leave it. Haven't had a bad thermostat in 20 years. I'm following a diagram, so haven't looked at the area.

Preciate it guys....I figured since they took out the water pump at 60K miles they would of replaced the coolant but never leave anything up to the dealership. I will mos def change the coolant, I imagine just 50/50 Dexcool?

Yes on the Dexcool. And yeah, probably some of the coolant got replaced.
