I drove all the way up from Miami to see a white 96 RME in Bradenton. It is in craiglist. I called the guy. Sent me pics, told me it was his, etc. The car is a rust bucked, mechanically is ok. It was a ripoff. These guys are dealers and they even tried to add an "impact fee" for $400.00.
Well I'm still looking for a white/tan (woody) decent Roadmaster Estate. Please keep me posted if you find one.
Thanks a million for this great forum!

Looks good too. I already sent an email to both owners... their cars are expensive but maybe I could get a reasonable deal. I plan to keep that car for a while. Thanks again and keep looking guys.

That CarSoup post was pulled, apparently. If you ever need someone to check one out in the Portland/Vancouver area, I'm willing to do so.

Thank you SmackMule. I´m waiting for a reply from the CarSoup and Auto Trader owners. I´ll keep you guys posted.

Purty steep. I recall a flawless wood-delete beige/tan 96 wagon with about 20K on it sold for around $7K in Texas several years ago.

Be patient: if you miss a used car, you weren't supposed to have that one.

Well; I made a deal for the car at Autotrader. It seems that is getting harder to find a clean RMW, and harder for me since the only color combination that works is white/tan and perfect wood and absolutely no rust. I´ll send pics as soon as a receive the car. Thank you all.

Glad to hear you were able to close on one. I know back in the day they were sending used ones to the Middle East (a family member's company used to buy Roadmaster Estates as company fleet cars, then sell them to a distributor who exported them to the Middle East when they were done with them), which may be making them rarer here today.

My wife and I will be flying this Friday to pick it up near Buffalo, NY. After a short visit to Niagara Falls we will cross the country all the way down to sunny Miami. I´ll send pics of the whale on the road.

Just for you guys to know. I flew to Northern Pennsylvania to pick up the 1996 Roadmaster Estate and drove the car back to Miami. Almost 2,000 miles, visiting Erie, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, 188 miles of Blue Ridge Parkway to Ashville, Charleston, SC. This car is a dream to drive. Service Engine light went on and off a couple of times. The only mechanical problem I found is an uneven front suspension (broken spring coil?) and the rotors needing service. I can tell you for sure, they don´t make cars like these anymore. Picture 943.webp

CEL probably indicating a sticky EGR valve.

Glad you had a smooth trip.!

Congratulations on your find & purchase! The car looks great and it makes me proud to have been a part of your search effort. It looks like the big brother of my pristine '96 RM with 58k. 😉

That Beluga is wonderful HotZ28. I´m in love with the car. My 2010 RAM R/T (11k miles) is sleeping in the garage since Woody arrived. Picture 964.webp
