So, I've been kicking around the idea of building another LGD with a cam and head work for this car, and while it's feasible and I CAN get to the goal I want with it, there's just something about a V6 that is...lacking. Mainly sound. I know these cars had the NorthStar as an option in them, and that wouldn't be a horrible idea with getting a later NorthStar and the problems generally fixed. But then it hit me that the LaCrosse was LS4 powered. I'm making the assumption (correct me if I'm wrong here) that the two cars are on the same chassis. If that's the case, then the LS4 SHOULD swap in, yes? Easiest part is that the NorthStar would require a transmission swap. The LS4 would not. The LS used the 4T65-E HD transmission. The NorthStar was 4T80-E equipped. If a guy got an engine, harness, & ECM, and probably a torque convertor from the LS trans, how doable would this be?
