Lucerne CXS/Super 0-60 mph (0-90 kmh) time

The Pirelli PZero is supposed to have very good traction. But I don't know first hand.

Texas Jim,

Just out of curiosity, and for the sake of comparison, what are your times with the Nannies "on"? Have you done multiple runs on the same day/conditions with individual nannies on/off for comparison to see what effect each one has on overall performance?

If the numbers I found were correct, your 0-60 times are better than stock, but 1/4 mile times are close to stock.

I have not tried it with individual ones on and off...
The track conditions were not good at all the day I ran it.
It was close to 100 degrees, with a pretty good headwind on the track.
They were limiting the REAL FAST cars to the 1/8 mile because of the wind.
The headwind may have played a part in the 1/4 mile times being slow.
I also had more fuel in it than I should have and about 100+ pounds of luggage in the trunk.. 🙂

The biggest thing I like... in doing what I did... it made the car so much more responsive and much more fun to drive.

Even with over 108,000 miles on it... I still enjoy the heck out of driving it every time I get in it.

One other thing... I have had it weighed on certified scales... with 1/4 tank of fuel and me in it... it weighs almost 4,700 pounds.
I think that is a little bit heavier than the Lucerne...

Jim

Hello Jim,
Ex drag racer hear, of course it's been almost 40 years now since I was on the track, I had a couple of GTOs and a Olds cutlass. We have been driving the Buick brand Park Avenue Ultras since 94. Traded out 2000 Ultra in for a 07 Lucerne CXS and haven't looked back. There is never enough horsepower for me. It's seems to me with the right gearing and horsepower your auto works less. The RPM is not as great (ie) 70 miles mph at 1500 rpm and will get around 27-28 miles per hour on the Kansas highways.

Morning George,

The gearing must be a lot different on your CXS than on my Caddy DTS.
At 70 I am well over 2000 RPM...I think closer to 2500...not 1500...

My mileage usually runs around 21 to 22...but I have a heavy foot.

But you are right on one thing... there is never enough horsepower... 🙂 🙂
If it don't scare you... it ain't enough... 😀 😎
