Maintenance & Service App

I just thought I would start this thread for those of us who do a lot of our own service work like oil changes, change spark plugs, etc. I have been using the CarFax Car Care app to record any work I perform. The nice thing about it is that it then shows up on any CarFax report pulled after that. So it is documented if there is ever an issue with the dealer. I bought my car used, so it also shows what previous work was done before I owned it, and it shows what service work needs to be performed (or is overdue) in the near future. The brake recall notice popped up recently, and that's when I first learned about it. It even tells me when my state car registration and safety inspection is due! I also added my sister's car since I do minor service work on it as well. Very pleased with it so far!

I update the service I do at mybuick.com, I'm not sure if Carfax and that site talk to each other or not but Carfax sends me reminders about the same upcoming services and the recall as does the Buick app and website.

I’m also using CarFax to log and manage maintenance activities. I keep up with my niece’s Encore also. I think having a good maintenance record is one of the best selling points. Personally, I would not buy a used vehicle without a maintenance history.

Sounds like someone in pharma... that's how my company is.

As an update, the Carfax app reminded me recently that my car registration (Car tags) needed to be renewed. I had forgotten about it because the DMV never sent the renewal card.
Since I also have my sister's car, (as well as my niece's car) on the Carfax app, it also alerted me that my sister's car registration also needed to be renewed! So, this free app has literally saved me money!
