My car tensioner marker is moving

On the top of my 01 lesabre tensioner the marker is moving back and forth a little, is this a warning for when the tension is going bad? My other 04 Lesabre it doesn't move off the tensioner mark.

I read that before, but the one on my 04 lesabre doesn't move. ????

What's more important is how far off center it is. Condition of belt is probably more critical. If it really bothers you then put a new belt on the one that is moving as it may be stretched more than the other one.

Thanks the belt was replaced a few months ago.with a Gates brand.

I would think tensioner movement is indicative of the spring loaded tensioner following any radial runout on any of the pulleys. For me, when I see the tensioner oscillations, it makes me appreciate the role of a spring loaded tensioner.

a bad tensioner either wont move or it will violently swing

A good one has a slower back and forth rocking and it will be calmer at certain rpm and with little loads
