Need seat heating element/pad replacement, GM Part 22817759

My heated seat element has died for the second time heading into the coldest time of the year. I have been told that the heated seat element assembly for my 2016 Regal has been discontinued, it is part 22817759. I have not been able to find a replacement online. Any suggestions for where I can find this discontinued part?

The similar Euro version Insignia (Opel / Vauxhall) forums indicate that wiring or connector problems are common. There also is a video that might help you troubleshoot. Not all of the problems are wiring.

If you need a heating element, you could search ebay. There are some non-oem options. You could also search using "Insignia". Or search the ebay UK site too. Opel/Vauxhall offered more seat versions so getting your seats matched might take a bit of investigation work.

Another option is to buy a used seat. I don't know if that requires any special tools.

In any case, use extreme caution to disarm airbags.
