100,000 miles, almost on the dot
I’m having a difficult time resolving this one. I’ve likely done several unnecessary things too but figured I’d just work through some checklist items. Here’s the scoop:
Currently the car will have a difficult time starting up unless I give it some gas. Once started, I generally need to feather the pedal a bit to prevent it from stalling. After about 20 seconds or so, RPM’s plummet, and I have to give it a few good pumps to keep it afloat. Once i do that, its almost like all the issues are gone. I can comfortably let the car idle without any feathering, and it doesn’t stall in park anymore. Downside is, the car goes into, “reduced engine mode” and the car won’t go over about 40mph.
So here’s what I have replaced recently:
- Camshaft Position Sensor
- VT solenoids (both)
- High Pressure Fuel Pump
- Fuel Pressure Sensor (on fuel rail)
- TPS (pedal)
Additionally:
- Cleaned & drilled out the small orifice on the inside of the intake.
- Cleaned all electrical connections
With regards to electrical connectors, everything seems okay. It looks like the two connectors to the VT solenoids are busted to an extent - that extent just being that they don’t snap in place, but otherwise they appear fine.
Looking for anything that could explain the codes. This one seems to be a doozy.
