Buick Ownership
1992 Park Avenue
Hey my name is Sage, I recently bought my first Buick at age 20. It’s a 92’ Park Avenue with 150,000~ miles on it. It was a one owner garage kept car, and it’s pretty mint inside and out. The thing runs great but I’ve found in the week I’ve owned it that theres some dastardly electrical gremlins regarding the lights. I made a separate post about it in the PA thread. I’m looking forward to being a member of this forum, and a Buick owner for years to come!

Well, of course, welcome.

Did you do a Car Fax on this vehicle?
Yes I did. I'm technically the 5th owner, but it was driven by the same gentleman for 32/34 years the car's been on the road. The car started its life in Hawaii, before being sold a year later at auction with 8k miles on it. It was then bought by the grandfather of the guy I purchased it from, and he proceeded to put about 140,000 miles on it. Part of the reason the car compelled me so much was the extensive maintenance records. The car has over 60 maintenance records, with almost all the work being done at the dealership. I have paperwork ranging from the Buick/Pontiac dealership to Cadillac/GMC to Chevrolet. The car is remarkably clean inside and out, and it has all the big ticket maintenance items done on it. The car was driven by the daughter and grandson of the owner off and on after his death, which is why it changed ownership two more times. Overall I'm very happy with the car but just need to iron out a few of the little kinks.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your Park Avenue! It sounds very nice. Do you have any pictures of it you can share with us? What did the Buick replace for you?

This is probably the best photo I have so far. Have a pic of it as my PFP and profile banner as well. Beautiful car with matching blue interior.

I got this car as a second car so that I have something more respectable, and have a second vehicle to allow for stress-free maintenance of my other car. It's a 97' Camry with 267,000 miles on it, and it's beginning to require more and more work to be done. In the past, working on it through the weekend has been a stressful endeavor as if there are complications I won't be able to make it to work when the new week begins. Having a second car will take away that fear, and give me something more stylish to cruise around in regardless. I also wish to keep the Camry as the primary work vehicle, and keep the Buick nice and clean as a result. The Buick doesn't fair as well on the curvy back roads I take to work anyway, the Camry has a bit more road feel that I can use to carve the corners with.

It looks great! And yes, the Park Avenue is definitely more of a luxury cruiser than the Camry - with a much softer suspension. But that's something many Buick owners appreciated. At at least back when car suspensions were more smooth. Today's big wheels and BMW-like handling aspirations stiffen up the ride quite a bit. You've got a nice Buick sedan there... I hope you find our community to be the best place to help keeping it running well...
