Best to look up the vehicle registration fees in China. Electric vehicle versus internal combustion vehicles. Costs can vary by thousands of USD dollars. Some plates/registration are auctioned off as CCP government regulates the number of vehicles in certain locations. Some places have a waiting list for registration/plates and again quite expensive.
There is a reason that China claims to have the most electric vehicles. As the CCP national government subsidizes the purchase of electric vehicles. So the claim is quite skewed as the government subsidies affect purchasing of electric vehicles.
