Noisy start-up, Ticking while idling

I just got a 2017 buick encore and it ticks all the time! Only 38000 miles on it. I feel like I got a bad deal or just plain ripped off. Had super buyers remorse and still recovering.
I just got a 2016 and heard the ticking and also a weird chirping noise the day after I bought it. Lots of buyer remorse 😕

If it's direct injection like my 2.0T regal than the ticking is normal and the chirping could be your pully belt.

My wife and I just traded in a 2016 Verano after 2 years for a 2017 Encore Essence...ours ticks too, and it's not inside valve cover or the heat shield. I think it is coming from the fuel rail after doing the 2 foot socket extension trick only with a drumstick since I did not have tools near by...but good news is you don't hear it in the interior, just when hood is open, and the only reason we opened hood was my wife thought she saw smoke or mist coming from hood on passenger side so I was looking for leaks, etc. Each time I've looked I don't see or smell anything, but she does. We have an appointment on Dec 2 at carmax where we got it since it's still under warranty. Any updates on yours? So far other than this, we love this car...I have never seen an engine compartment so clean so it would be easy to spot a leak, but I didn't see any. I just read where 2017 have had a lot of fires, so now when she says it's smoking I'm a little more concerned...what color smoke...it it clear heat, whitish steam or gray and/or black SMOKE?

Have a 2016 Buick regal turbo 2.0 , had transmission replaced with new one . 3 days later noticed a ticking noise upon starting car . What could this be and should I worry ?
