Oil Leak 2300 miles

My wife drives our Regal T02 95% of the time after she left for work this morning I noticed several oil spots on the garage floor driver side of the car under the engine, (I hate oil spots on the floor). It is apparent since several spots are on the floor the car drips the fluid overnight.
I plan to put the car on a lift ASAP and try to locate the source.
Has anyone on the forum experienced Engine or Transmission oil leaks?
Really concerned at 2300 miles!!🙁

What color is the fluid? That will at least point you in the right direction to search for.

flyingcent – it’s been a few days since you posted about the oil spots on your garage floor. Have you made any progress regarding this? Are you planning to have your Regal looked at?

Put the car on a lift problem was a heavy YELLOW Grease or undercoating on the aluminum skid guards and rear motor mount. The extreme heat from the engine and summer weather is turning this yellow grease from a paste to liquid which drips on the floor and looks like a motor oil.
This yellow grease is just on a few small places below the motor/transmission not under the entire car however the blow bye during melting combined with highway dirt from the melt does create a dirty brown mess under the car.
Thank god no engine leak I just hope it does not ignite on the road or in the garage.
I'm not sure what the reason is for the yellow coating on this small area under the car. I like to keep my driveway and floor spotless as possible.
We park the car outside until it cools down my wife drives 9 miles to work and back no lead foot she is worried about a fire. I hope this helps if other see drips on the floor.

I believe it is cosmoline. A type of preservative for metal. I had it on my car and washed it of with engine cleaner. Below is the link to my post with pictures regarding the coating.
