Oil Life / Change Interval and Tire Rotation

So as the one post said in that long discussion from another site, all engines and types of driving are different and dictate different intervals. But for me, Wal-Mart synthetic at 10,000 mile intervals has gotten me to 226,000 miles with no issues. As for tires, I know you guys have different tires than on my old LS but it came with Firestones that went 135,500 miles before I replaced them with the same; the second set now has 90,500 miles on them. And while these things are no high performance tires they work really well on wet roads and also on snowy roads; I am often one of the fastest things on the road in the snow.

Need oil change help. I haven't changed the oil in my cars in the last 10 years. I attempted it yesterday. I think I found the drain plug on the passenger side of the crankcase with it being located vertically on a side wall. It appears to be a 15mm sized bolt. Is this correct? Is it a reverse thread? Who ever tighten the bolt last, torqued the s--t out of it. I was able to loosen the oil filter canister.

My drain plug is located on the passenger side, back of the oil pan facing down towards the rear of the car and was not reverse thread.

The bolt/plug is 15mm and it's on the oil pan facing the rear of the car. It has a rubber seal embedded in it. I kind of remember it right in the middle of the car. Might be a little towards the passenger side, but not much.
